
These wholewheat vegan Cinnamon Apples French Crepes are so soft and delicious. They are so versatile you can top them or fill them with any ingredient(s) of your choice, whether sweet or savoury. I’ve filled these with a delectable spiced apple filling – scrummy!

I also have a recipe for buckwheat crepes which I’ve served up with a cheesy mushroom sauce so if you want a gluten-free version then you might like those. Also can be eaten with sweet or savoury toppings.

How to make Vegan French Crepes
To make Healthy Crepes, combine wholewheat flour, cornstarch, coconut sugar and salt and mix. Pour in plant milk, vanilla extract and rapeseed oil and whisk into a smooth batter. Transfer to jug to make cooking process more efficient and less messy. Heat a frying pan (add ½ tsp il if not using a non-stick pan), then pour out the batter, roughly around 75 ml and swirl the pan around to spread the batter out evenly and thinly. Cook on a medium heat for 2 minutes then flip and cook a further 1-2 minutes.
How to make Cinnamon Apples
To make cinnamon apples, add all chopped apples, cinnamon, lemon juice (optional) and coconut sugar (optional) to a saucepan and simmer for 10-15 minutes – depending on if you like smushy or al dente. Place 2-3 tbsp of apples on each crepe, roll up and serve.

Vegan French Crepes with Cinnamon Apples
Ingredients
Crepes
- 150 g wholewheat flour
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp coconut sugar
- ¼ tsp salt
- 600 ml plant milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
Cinnamon Apples
- 4 large apples peeled and chopped
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp lemon juice optional
- 1 tbsp coconut sugar optional
Instructions
- Pour in the wet ingredients and whisk together until a smooth batter is achieved.
- Pour into a jug (this makes the whole cooking process more simple, efficient and less messy).
- If using a non-stick pan, oil is not necessary to fry – if not, then add ½ tsp oil to a frying pan.
- Pour in around 100 ml of the batter, or enough to thinly cover the entire surface of the pan.
- Swirl liquid batter around the pan to spread evenly and thinly – be quick before the batter starts to cook in the hot pan.
- Cook for roughly 2 minutes when the edges start to slightly curl then flip immediately and cook another 1-2 minutes on the other side.
- For the cinnamon apples, add all ingredients to a pan and simmer for 10-15 minutes – depending on if you like smushy or al dente.
- Place 2-3 tbsp of apples on each crepe, roll up and serve.
