This is my attempt at the Impossible Burger Recipe, and I gotta say, it was pretty darn impressive – I mean look at it! Succulent, meaty, tender, pink, grilled and overall tasty as heck.

Faux meat has seen a massive revelation in 2020, with brands such as Impossible and Beyond bringing out foods that taste pretty much like meat in terms of texture, flavour, appearance – the lot. Now I’m not sure exactly how they’ve made anything. What I do know however is that they have hundreds of people researching and testing recipes out everyday using the latest news and technology…nothing of which I have at home. BUT, I do have a hot plate and an oven and so far it’s been adequate in helping my creations along. My finale isn’t as refined as these guys’, but my Impossible Burger attempt has nonetheless resulted in a pattie that is still bloody impressive!

So have your fries and shake ready, because you’re in for a nice little treat with this DIY fake meat hamburger.

Unrefined coconut oil is has gone through less processing steps than refined coconut oil and tastes much more like the coconut itself. Refined coconut oil is more neutral and less coconut-tasting. The processing steps in this version have reduced the intensity of the coconut taste.
