When I’m not drinking mulled wine, I’m sipping on this rich and creamy Christmas Hot Chocolate. Healthy, vegan, gluten-free and takes 2 minutes to make. Mint chocolate is definitely a food combo that’s up there with peanut butter jelly and chocolate orange. I actually wasn’t so fond of mint as a kiddywink but glad I grew out of that! Soft mints, mint choc chip ice cream, mint Aero, After Eight – if it contained mint, it was a big no-go area!
Now, it’s an all-go area! Super simple, super easy and super delicious – what’s not to like about this drink! If you fancy a different Christmas-themed combo rather than mint chocolate, go for chocolate orange. In hot chocolate form or cake form, both work for me. But one of my faves has to be this decadent Chocolate Orange Cake.

To make Christmas Hot Chocolate, in mug or saucepan, add plant milk. Heat in the microwave or on a stove top for 1-2 minutes. Add 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder and a drop of mint extract. Sweeten with maple syrup or stevia and stir.
How to drink hot chocolate
Hot chocolate is great with or without sprinkles and toppings, but always better with the, in my opinion – the more the merrier! I topped mine with coconut whipped cream, vegan marshmallows, chocolate sauce and candy cane for that extra Christmas vibe. If you fancy an alternative Christmas flavour, replace the mint extract with orange for a taste of Terry’s chocolate orange, also just as festive and scrummy.
