Questions about Chocolate Banana Pops
How to make banana pops? To make banana pops, you will need bananas, chocolate and sprinkles of your choice. Melt the chocolate in a bowl. Peel the bananas and cut in half and/or lengthways (optional), coat in chocolate using hand or immerse fully and use a fork to lift the banana out of the chocolate, allowing the excess to drip off. Lay on a tray lined with greaseproof paper. Sprinkle with toppings (suggestions below – I used freeze-dried strawberries, dried peach, coconut chips, almonds, chocolate coated coffee beans and crushed hazelnuts) and place in the freezer for at least 2 hours.
What are popsicles? In England we call them ice lollies and basically they are just some form of ice cream or sweet frozen liquid on a stick.
Can frozen bananas go bad? If stored appropriately in a freezer below 0℃, these frozen banana popsicles can last 2-3 months. Though they wouldn’t last this long in my freezer – too delicious!
Can nuts be frozen? Yes nuts can be stored in the freezer. The texture is hardly unchanged, and in combination with chocolate and bananas in this recipe, they are perfect.
